Wallo and Helga

Special People like Thomas, Wallo and Helga

It was Thomas, who died in August 1997 after a long struggle from a heart illness, who made it possible for me to be an "adopted daughter" of Wallo and Helga in Crailsheim. I was in my senior year as a nursing student at "Universitätsklinikum" Heidelberg when I met Thomas, then 28 years old. He was my "Exam-Patient", for my practical board examinations. More than that, we became good friends. Early August 1997, he invited me to visit him in Crailsheim, hoping that he will still be released from his long hospitalization. Unfortunately, he died but Wallo and Helga fulfilled their son's promise for me to see the city of Crailsheim. I attended Thomas' burial and that in the middle of my nursing examinations! This decision changed my life and it did not bring any negative effect to the results of my board examinations. A good and dear friend of mine passed away and I had to be there to say goodbye! Though filled with sadness, I was able to get good notes and the friendship with Thomas' Family lasts until now. Wallo and Helga become my "German parents", giving me moral support and even financial care, supporting my child-help projects in the Philippines.

Danke, Thomas! Danke, Wallo und Helga!
